Chelsea striker Diego Costa did not make the cut for Spain’s squad, while Celta Vigo’s Nolito made the cut for the European qualifiers.

Costa, who has not made much of an impact for Chelsea this season will miss the matches against Luxembourg and Ukraine.

Del Bosque has pointed out Costa’s one match suspension as the reason the Chelsea man was not included.

“We’ll count with Costa in the future, but he is banned for one match,” Del Bosque said.

Morata has been called up to replace Costa, while Iniesta and Vitolo miss out due to injury. And Del Bosque explains he left out Koke, so as not to aggravate his injury problems.

“We hope Sergio Ramos to be in the best form. If not, we’ll look for solutions. Koke is not yet totally fine, we didn’t call him for security reasons,” the former Real Madrid manager added.
